ANNOUNCEMENT: The Teachings of Denver C. Snuffer, Jr. Volume 1: 2007-2013

Not long ago, in a conversation with me, Denver said that one day, we will “wish we had hit print” because computers and the internet will not always be available. We at the archives, want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to “hit print” on all of Denver’s materials, so that when that day comes we will have hard copies of everything, distributed widely around the world.

To that end, a new book series was released a few days ago on Amazon and on our website. This first volume (“TDS 1”) covers all of Denver’s publicly-released talks, papers and Q&A sessions that occurred prior to the 40 Years in Mormonism talks (a.k.a. “the 10 talks”). Here is an excerpt from the Preface:

Following the publication of The Second Comforter: Conversing with the Lord Through the Veil in 2006, I have been asked on occasion to speak or present papers to various gatherings. What started out as a talk or a discussion here and there, has grown into a body of work consisting of many millions of words that fill thousands of pages of books, papers, transcripts, and audio and video recordings.

This book series will comprise all of the essays, papers and transcripts of talks I have given publicly, starting with “Christ’s Discourse on the Road to Emmaus”, a talk I gave in April, 2007. Using the transcript of that talk as a basis, I corrected errors, completed unfinished thoughts, added footnotes and a diagram, and added additional content, expanding it into a finished paper. In the cases where I follow this pattern, the finished paper is or will be included in this series, rather than the original audio transcript, because I consider the papers to be a more complete and better overall presentation of the same material. In the cases where no completed paper has been or will be produced, the audio transcript has been carefully reviewed for accuracy and included without further expansion or correction. This book series, therefore, together with the Restoration Edition of the scriptures that were canonized in September, 2017, all of the books I have written, and my complete blog and podcasts, constitute the body of work that has been presented publicly thus far.

This volume covers the first eight talks and papers I gave from 2007 through 2013 – essentially everything that came before the ten 40 Years in Mormonism lectures that began in September, 2013. Those ten lectures will be contained in the second volume of this series. Subsequent volumes are planned that will contain everything given from 2014 through today, with future material to be compiled into additional volumes as it becomes available, as the Lord allows.

We will announce each volume here as it becomes available. Volume 2 is almost ready for publication already, and should be available shortly.

EDITIONS AND FORMATTING
Each volume is being made available in four (4) different editions/formats. They are:

  1. Restoration Archive Edition – 8.5 x 11″, 186 page paperback with 12 point font. Larger margins and layout for study and notes.
  2. Readers Edition – 6 x 9″, 316 page paperback with 12 point font. Smaller margins and layout for easy reading and convenient carrying.
  3. Kindle Edition – Digital format for any device with free Kindle reader.
  4. Downloadable PDF – Free download of the entire book, so you can print it out on your own printer if you want.

A photo rendering of what the finished book series will look like can be found here.

This should make it very easy and convenient for anyone to be able to “hit print” at the lowest possible cost. We hope you will find this effort beneficial, now and in the future. Enjoy!

Lots of New Stuff – And More to Come!

Many of you have asked that we keep you posted when new things are added to the archives. The trouble is, new things have been added to the archives so frequently lately that posting a notification each time is just not practical. So, we encourage you to come back often to see what’s new.

Meanwhile, we will try to post periodically when major things happen, and this is one of those times.

PODCAST ARCHIVE ADDED: Through the end of 2018, 50 podcast episodes had been published on Denver’s website, and now an archive of all of those episodes with audio and transcripts (as they become available) can be found in the new Podcast area on Denver’s page.

GENERAL CONFERENCES: The General Conferences area has been significantly updated, with audio, video and transcripts (where available) of individual talks, events and presentations now archived and available for each conference. We have also received written conference histories for each of the first two (2) Boise conferences, which will be posted shortly. We are also hoping to be able to post conference histories for each of the other three general conferences that have already transpired, as well as all future ones. Those histories will be added to the resources available for each conference as they become available.

REGIONAL MEETINGS: We are aware of eight (8) regional or multi-fellowship meetings that occurred during 2018, and we have archived the audio, video and transcripts (where available) of all of them of which we are aware. We do not have transcripts for most of those talks and presentations, so if you happen to have a transcript or a paper that is not yet posted, please send them in!

JOHN PRATT SACRED CALENDARS:  Dr. John Pratt has commenced a weekly presentation on Sacred Calendars, held each Sunday evening by Zoom meeting. Event information is available in the Events calendar if you would like to attend live. Additionally, we have added the audio, video, slides and other resources from each session to the Regional Meetings area of the archive. He has completed 16 sessions to date, with a goal of going through a full year (we assume around 52 sessions) to complete the cycle.

We hope you find the Restoration Archives to be useful and helpful in your daily walk. If you would like to contribute time, talent, or means to this effort, please reach out and let us know. If you have suggestions or ideas, please pass them along. And, be on the lookout for a huge announcement in a few days – we’ve been working on a major project that is just now reaching its first major milestone…

More to come…!

Joseph Smith Restoration Conference Update

Just a quick update – In the Library section for Denver Snuffer, we just posted the audio of the talk Denver gave last night at the Joseph Smith Restoration Conference in Boise, ID. As soon as it’s available, we will also post to our YouTube channel a complete set of videos of the conference, including excellent talks by many people from various branches of Mormonism. Enjoy!

NEW – HD Audio Available, and Much More!

Today, we completed our comprehensive clean-up and re-mix of all 42 of Denver Snuffer’s audio files in the Library area under Papers & Talks. Whew! It was a big job, but some of the audio was very noisy and sometimes difficult to hear. So, it needed to be done, and we are much happier with the fresh, new HD audio files that have replaced the old ones.

If you would like, you can RE-DOWNLOAD all of the .mp3’s and replace your current versions with them. Hopefully you will find them much easier to listen to!

In other news, we have also built the Restoration Archives YouTube channel, which now contains 30 of Denver’s full-length talks, which much more to come. Many people find this a very convenient way to listen to full-length talks, especially when commuting or traveling. We would love for you to check it out, and subscribe if you would like. If you do, you will be notified when new content is uploaded to the channel.

We have also added links to the Denver Snuffer Podcast, for your convenience. The 20th episode is scheduled to release on Sunday. You can listen to all of the past episodes, and also get the transcripts, here.

Please stay tuned – much more is on the way as we continue to roll out more content, more listening and viewing options, more language options, and more transcripts. Many thanks to the entire Restoration Archives team, volunteers all, who have spent countless hours laboring to make this all possible, and for those who have contributed financially and in other ways to this effort. We are all better off because of you!

Added 3 New Transcripts

Today, we added three new transcripts to the Denver Snuffer library. They are:

  1. Road to Emmaus
  2. Cutting Down the Tree of Life to Build a Wooden Bridge
  3. Unity in Christ Conference

In each case, we added a verbatim transcript of the recorded audio, including Q&A where available, to the lineup of available resources for those talks. We hope you will add these to your own collection of teachings from Denver and enjoy the additional material!

Major Updates to the Library!

We have completed a number of major updates to the Library area, including adding a lot of new resources, and indicating where new resources are being prepared but are not ready yet (these are indicated by a greyed-out icon).

If you haven’t already, please have a look at the Denver Snuffer archive page where you’ll see the improvements. Thanks to everyone who spent so much time making this possible!

2 New Transcripts Posted

Today, we posted preliminary versions of two new transcripts:

1. That We Might Become One, a fireside talk given by Denver Snuffer on January 14, 2018
2. Cursed: Denied Priesthood, a fireside talk and Q&A session with Denver Snuffer from January 7, 2018.

These are now available in the Library area, on the Denver Snuffer Jr. page.

PLEASE NOTE: We plan to make an announcement like this each time we post new or updated resources or content. If you would like to be notified when new content is posted, please subscribe to the RSS feed for this blog and it will happen automatically for you.

Enjoy!
